Madison Rayne’s thoughts on a possible IMPACT Hall of Fame induction

Former IMPACT legend, Madison Rayne recently spoke on how she would feel if she was selected to enter the IMPACT Hall of Fame. If this were to happen, she would be one of only two women to receive this honor following Gail Kim who was inducted in 2016. Rayne recently retired and hung up her wrestling boots as she signed off on her career at the Hard to Kill pay-per-view preshow earlier this month.

Rayne recently was interviewed by WrestleZone and had the following to say in regards to the idea of being in the Hall of Fame.

“If IMPACT Wrestling wanted to put me in the Hall Of Fame in 2021, I’m sure that wouldn’t be an awful way to put a bow on this fantastic career.”

During the interview she also spoke on why she feels that she received so many opportunities. As a five-time Knockouts Champion and a two-time Knockouts Tag Team Champion she certainly earned her all of her accolades with the company. Rayne feels that being a hard worker and easy to work with help her achieve her success.

“The opportunities that I’ve been given, I’d like to think I’ve been given all of them because I worked hard and I was easy to work with. So, I’d like to think that that would be part of my legacy, that I was easy to work with, that I was someone that everybody enjoyed being in the ring and in the locker room with, that I was somebody who was giving,” Rayne said.

She recalls her first tryout match against Awesome Kong…

“I’ll never ever forget my first night at TNA, having my tryout match against Awesome Kong and it was when she was doing the ‘Awesome Kong challenge’ and these local and independent women were coming in. They were getting three or four-minute matches, not much offense, and not much of an opportunity. But she made sure that I had enough time and enough opportunity in that match to really shine. That’s something that I’ve always carried with me and I hope that’s something that other women who I’ve worked with feel that I’ve done too.”

Unlike WWE, IMPACT generally only inducts one person a year to their Hall of Fame. There has only been nine people in total (one tag team) to be inducted since 2012.
