Riho is returning to AEW!
Last week, AEW announced an upcoming Women’s world championship eliminator tournament. The winner of the tournament will become the number one contender to the current longtime champion, Hikaru Shida.
The graphic of the bracket has a distinct USA vs. Japan vibe to it, and it looks like that is indeed the primary theme for this tournament.
On tonight’s (Jan. 27) episode of Dynamite, AEW announced that Riho is coming back to the promotion for the tourney. The first ever AEW women’s champion has been away from the promotion for the last 10 months due to the coronavirus pandemic. She’ll be back in AEW for a first round tournament match against the current NWA world women’s champion, Serena Deeb.

No timetable or date was given for this bout other than “Coming soon.” We’ll see how that meshes with a recent rumor that Riho’s return to AEW might be delayed due to travel restrictions.
Do you think Riho is the immediate favorite to go all the way, or will she be tripped up right away by Deeb?
