Meiko Satomura reportedly signed with WWE

Meiko Satomura

Japanese wrestling legend, Meiko Satomura is reportedly signed with WWE.

According to Yahoo Japan Satomura is in London at the NXT UK Performance Centre and preparing for her first match.

If her recent tweet of a British Twinings teabag suggests she is in the country enjoying one of England’s delicacies.

Tokyo Sports previously reported that Satomura was joining the British brand in October of last year, but there is no official word from WWE or Satomura as of yet.

If reports (and teabag tweets) are true, Satomura would be a welcome addition to the NXT UK women’s division.

Kay Lee Ray is at the top of the mountain and the division’s champion for over 500 days. Ray has defeated all comers during her reign and most recently beat Jinny. After the match, Ray declared that she wants to face the best in the world and Meiko Satomura is most certainly that.

Satomura is a 26-year veteran and widely regarded as one of the best wrestlers ever. Could she be the one to dethrone the “Scary Queen of Scots”? It is definitely possible if the reports are accurate.
