Orton, Edge will start the men’s Royal Rumble this year
As promised, the return of WWE Backstage featured the reveal of the first two entrants in this year’s men’s Royal Rumble match scheduled for tomorrow night (Sun., Jan. 31, 2021) at the ThunderDome at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.
They are:
- Randy Orton
- Edge
That sets quite the stage for the match. In his first promo back announcing his entrance, Edge didn’t even mention Orton, the man who injured him at the tail end of their feud in early 2020. There were rumors they would resume their program upon his return but, as mentioned, he didn’t even bring Orton up in his promo, instead focusing on the fact that he never lost the world heavyweight championship when he was forced to retire a decade ago and he wants to win the Rumble so he can go to WrestleMania and take back what he never lost.
Perhaps they’ll be kicking up that old feud after all.
