Jax & Baszler become two-time Women’s Tag Team Champs on the Royal Rumble Kick Off
Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler are once again Women’s Tag Team Champions. The team that seems to often be on opposite pages were able to work well together and become Women’s Tag Team Champions for the second time. They defeated Charlotte Flair and Asuka on the Royal Rumble Kick Off show.
They certainly received help in doing so as both Ric Flair and Lacey Evans caused the distractions. After Asuka was taken out over the announce table, Charlotte was trying to secure the victory and keep the tag titles. She attempted to lock in the Figure Eight on Baszler. Evans, at ringside, was able to pull Charlotte towards the ring apron which broke the hold.
As Charlotte was going for the submission again on Baszler, Ric handed Evans a foreign object (most likely brass knuckles). Behind the referee’s back, Evans delivered a powerful Woman’s Right with the object which left The Queen motionless. Jax then delivered a leg drop to secure the victory and the pin.
Charlotte will see Jax and Baszler later in the night as all three women have been confirmed for the Royal Rumble match. Asuka likely won’t be in the rumble match as she is still the RAW Women’s Champion but never say never with WWE.
