The IIconics forced to break up; Riott Squad earn tag team title shot

WWE did a very WWE thing and booked a tag team match pitting The IIconics vs. Ruby Riott & Liv Morgan for this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw with the stipulation that the winners would earn a shot at the women’s tag team titles and the losers would “be no more.”

That’s exactly how they put it.

Riott ended up pinning Billie Kaye. So while the recently reunited Riott Squad celebrated, The IIconics threw a fit in the ring, crying and hugging each other while commentary played up the fact that, well, they have to break up now. “Over a decade of friendship is gone,” as Tom Phillips put it.

I’m not sure why being forced to split up as a team means they aren’t friends anymore, but there you have it.

It was clarified that Riott & Morgan’s title shot will come “at a later date.”
