Bayley is alone on an island
WWE.com
16 unique performers competed in a match on the main card of Clash of Champions 2020.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at which performers have currently wrestled on the most consecutive pay-per-view (PPV) events as of September 2020. The only rules are that the superstar must have wrestled for more than zero seconds on the main card of the PPV (sorry, pre-show fans), typical 24/7 title shenanigans will be ignored, and events in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are omitted from this exercise.
Here are the active streaks coming out of this pay-per-view:
- 7 events – Bayley
- 3 events – Randy Orton
- 2 events – Crews, Lashley, Reigns
- 1 event – Hardy, Styles, Zayn, Asuka, Vega, Dawkins, Ford, Andrade, Garza, McIntyre, Jey Uso
And here are the streaks that ended at Clash of Champions:
- 8 events – Braun Strowman
- 4 events – Sasha Banks
- 3 events – Seth Rollins, Bray Wyatt
- 2 events – Dominik
- 1 event – Big E, Sheamus, Riddle, Corbin, Jax, Baszler, Lee, Rey, Murphy
With Braun Strowman dropping off the list at Clash of Champions, Bayley is alone on an island at the top. Bayley’s streak was in danger once Nikki Cross was removed from the pay-per-view, but Asuka was there to pull double duty and give Bayley an impromptu match. It wasn’t much of a match, but they count all the same.
There isn’t much of note happening underneath Bayley on this list of active streaks. The coronavirus pandemic has generally resulted in shorter pay-per-view cards without a steady presence of the same superstars each month. WWE’s scheduling quirk of running pay-per-views on consecutive weekends in August has also contributed to the thinning down of these streaks.
What do you think about this list of active streaks, Cagesiders? Which wrestler is most likely to fall off the list next?
