AEW Rewind: Wardlow hype, Anna Jay ambushed Brandi in her kitchen, more!

All Elite’s YouTube

Don’t have time to follow all of AEW’s online content? Don’t worry. We got you covered with the AEW Rewind, which will rewind through social media bits and YouTube videos from the past week to prepare you for Wednesday night Dynamite.

The #1 contender tournament will continue tonight as Kenny Omega wrestles Pentagon and Hangman Page battles Wardlow. Or in the words of Hangman, “sad yeehaw man vs big muscle tits.” The latest edition of Road to AEW Dynamite put the spotlight on Wardlow’s preparation.

Wardlow is only focused on what he can accomplish in this business. Since his first match in AEW was in a cage against Cody Rhodes, the pressure of the tournament doesn’t even come close to comparing to that huge debut moment. Wardlow is ready to win the AEW World Championship.

In a bit of roster news, Inside the Ropes confirmed that Serpentico officially signed with AEW. I’ve been enjoying his tag team work with Luther, so it will be nice to continue seeing them grow as a unit.

Time for a catch-up on A Shot of Brandi. Peter Avalon (here) drank a Paloma cocktail with tequila and helped prepare a tequila fruit salad. He also shared a story wrestling with a stripper gimmick at Bar Wrestling where he would consistently leave with $100 in singles from the crowd.

Sonny Kiss (here) sipped on a virgin daiquiri while making strawberry cookies. Kiss discussed being accepted in AEW. The end had a funny little dance party.

Brandi hosted the Dark Order’s John Silver (here) as a treat for the people. She had a security guard in the room for her safety. They drank silver margaritas and cooked fried chicken, which was marinated with buttermilk and hot sauce. Johnny Hungiee shared an amusing anecdote about accidentally throwing a mustard packet at Tony Khan’s face. In the final moments, Anna Jay stormed in to fight with Brandi. Jay sprayed cooking oil into the eyes of the security fellow then threw blows at Brandi.

It appears to have gone from bad to worse for Brandi. Silver may have successfully recruited Pharaoh to the Dark Order.

Being the Elite

“Dark Order Halloween Party” – Being The Elite, Ep. 227 (here) featured:

  • In a skit, Matt Jackson had the new iPhone F (Future). That was 1 of only 2 available. The photos Matt was taking showed the future. Nick Jackson went on a singles run and won the TNT title. A picture of Brandon Cutler foretold him being murdered in the bathroom by the Best Friends and Orange Cassidy. Christopher Daniels was hired by HHH to be head of talent relations for NXT. The last photo was of Matt being stabbed in the neck with a pen by Tony Schiavone.
  • Matt wanted to go through the heel entrance tunnel, but Nick wanted to go through the babyface tunnel. Frankie Kazarian threatened them to go babyface. The Bucks decided to take the stairs instead.
  • Dark Order was prepping for a Halloween party. Alex Reynolds dressed as slutty George Washington, John Silver was Buffalo Bill from The Silence of the Lambs, Anna Jay was Zatanna, 5 and 10 were both Joker, and Stu Grayson was Robin. Stu’s outfit looked like a mini skirt. Wardlow was the bouncer.
  • Peter Avalon versus Brandon Cutler will be on Dark as no DQ, no count-out, and no time limit. Matt Sydal picked Cutler to win. QT Marshall picked Avalon, while Dustin Rhodes picked Cutler. Dr. Britt Baker DMD went with Avalon. Best Friends and Orange Cassidy individually picked Shawn Dean.
  • Damascus Hardy went to the Dark Order’s party. That led to, “Terms of the Inside,” for, ‘pop,’ which is when a wrestling crowd reacts very loudly.
  • In the BTE Championship gator golf tournament, John Silver beat Colt Cabana (in the body of Michael Nakazawa), Matt Jackson beat Fuego del Sol, and Trent beat Matt Hardy. That last matchup went over 20 strokes each.
  • Eddie Kingston cut an impromptu promo about a pumpkin bucket. He didn’t have Halloween growing up, so October 31 is just another day for him.
  • Back to the Dark Order party. Leva Bates, Nyla Rose, and Sammy Guevara were let in by Wardlow. Griff Garrison entered, and everyone thought it was Jungle Boy in a Garrison costume. Private Party was denied access. The only other name on the no list was Brian Pillman Jr. Last up was Brandon Cutler with the camera. I’m pretty sure Hangman Page was in the back passed out at the bar with his hand on a whiskey glass.
  • The closing montage featured Matt Jackson in deep thought with flashbacks of the chair attack from FTR and Tully Blanchard on Dynamite. Matt also thought about his recent jerk behavior. Nick fetched his brother, and they went down the hallway. It seemed like this scene will continue next week.

As it turns out, the close to BTE was most likely in reference to the Bucks coming out for Cutler’s match against Avalon on Dark.

We’ll close with a silly video with AEW action figures.
