SmackDown ratings, viewership up for perhaps the last time this year
WWE and Fox got good new from the overnight numbers. The Fri., Dec. 11 episode of SmackDown’s audience was almost 4% bigger than the week before, with 2.1 million people watching the episode. Ratings were slightly higher, too. The blue brand won the night for its network in the under 50 demographic, and tied for first with ABC’s Shark Tank and CBS’ MacGyver among 18 – 34 year olds.
Here are the fast nationals:
You can see where that stacks up with previous Fridays in our running tracker of overnight numbers for the new season. You can also access the tab of year one numbers here (all data still via Showbuzz Daily).
Those are the last increases WWE & Fox will see before TLC on Dec. 20, and quite possibly the last increases SmackDown will have this year. Next week’s PPV go home episode will air on FS1 due to a college football game taking over the broadcast network. Then the following two Fridays are holidays.
It’s still the most watched wrestling show on television, though.
