WWE will start airing content from independent promotions on the Network this weekend

According to a report from Sports Illustrated, WWE will start adding content from independent promotions to the WWE Network beginning this weekend, with the promise of more to come.

Shows that will be added:

• ICW’s Shug’s Hoose Party 4: Night 2
• wXw Femme Fatales 2019
• wXw AMBITION 11
• PROGRESS Wrestling’s Chapter 92

There will also be two “Best Of” specials on Drew McIntyre and Keith Lee showcasing their work in EVOLVE, which helped lead them both to WWE. In McIntyre’s case, it was some of his best work that helped bring him back.

The current WWE champion was also quoted as saying:

“This current run I am having does not happen without the independents. I’d lost my passion for wrestling, the one thing I’d loved for as long back as I could remember. I didn’t just recapture it during this period of time, I took it to a whole new level. I was surrounded by so many talented, hungry individuals, people that were believing in me and pushing me. There is no WWE Championship for me without that run, and that period of time, as you’ll see, created a lot of superstars in WWE and throughout wrestling.”

The new content arrives this Saturday.
