That was a weird debut for Chelsea Green on SmackDown (UPDATED)

UPDATE: There’s an explanation for all this, as it turns out. See what happened here.

Huh.

After months of not hearing from Chelsea Green, and plenty of talk of her being called up to the main roster, she finally showed up on Friday Night SmackDown this week. First, she appeared backstage:

That was played like she convinced Adam Pearce to add her to a triple threat Survivor Series qualifying match featuring Natalya, Liv Morgan, and Tamina Snuka. Sure enough, just before that match was to start, it was revealed it would be a Fatal 4-Way and Green got in on it.

Then, well, that was about it.

She did very little, got dropkicked off the apron, and then sold outside while they went ahead and worked what was basically a triple threat anyway. In the end, Liv Morgan emerged victorious and Green was more or less an afterthought.

It was a really strange way to bring a new wrestler into the fold, making her a non-factor right out of the gate. We’ll see what kind of plans they have for her to overcome this slow start.
