Asuka vs. Sasha Banks

Asuka and Sasha Banks spent much of the summer fighting each other over championship gold. First it was for the women’s tag titles, where Sasha Banks and Bayley took the titles from the Kabuki Warriors and ended Kairi Sane’s career in WWE. Asuka and Banks later feuded over the Raw women’s championship, where they swapped the title back and forth.

Asuka has dominated the Raw women’s division as the champion since then; Mickie James, Zelina Vega, and Lana were not ready for Asuka. Meanwhile Sasha’s friendship with Bayley disintegrated, and it resulted in Banks winning the SmackDown women’s championship from her former best friend inside Hell in a Cell.

As their brand’s respective champions, that means Asuka and Banks will go at it one more time at Survivor Series to determine who really is the Best of the Best. That’s how it works in theory, but in practice, Carmella keeps sticking her nose in Sasha’s business. Carmella ambushes Banks at every chance she gets, and she even did it in front of Asuka on the go home episode of SmackDown:

Asuka didn’t lift a finger to help her Survivor Series opponent during Carmella’s latest attack. Considering what Sasha did to Kairi Sane in the summer, it’s hard to fault Asuka for having no sympathy for Banks.

We know that The Empress and The Boss can have a fantastic match. But with Carmella lurking around the corner whenever Sasha is in the ring, it wouldn’t be surprising at all if she interrupted a classic match to make it all about her.
