Extreme Rules Preview and Prediction from BigDave
As the next WWE PPV is tonight, I have the match card below and I am going to my pointers and opinions on all the matches involved in tonight’s RAW PPV.
Noam Dar and Alicia Fox vs. Rich Swann and Sasha Banks
I’ll admit I haven’t paid much attention to this feud… it’s clearly just one of those feuds that WWE do just so Superstars get air time. But none the less, Sasha is still a great wrestler and so is Noam Dar. So it will be an opening match for the PPV and I would presume it’ll be their last encounter. From what has gone on so far between the four, I’d say Banks and Swan will come out on top!
Neville vs. Austin Aries (Submission match for Cruiserweight Championship)
This feud has been going on since before Mania and it needs to end now. Doesn’t need much thought, Aries will win. Both men have had some great matches over the past few months which will conclude with Aries finally taking the title away from “King Neville” tonight.
Dean Ambrose vs. The Miz (Intercontinental Championship)
Another feud that has been going on for a good couple of months now. Again, not much thought to go into this one as we’ve seen how these two wrestle. There matches are usually pretty good but I think Miz will retain at tonight’s PPV.
Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley (Kendo Stick on a Pole match for Raw Women’s Championship)
Kendo Stick on a Pole match… what can I say? One word… STUPID. Bayley and Bliss are both better than a Kendo Stick match. Why WWE think this is a good step forward for the woman’s division is beyond me. A writer needs to be fired or something. What can I say though? It’ll be a short match with a few “ouch” bumps using the Kendo Stick and that’s it! Bliss will retain no doubt!
The Hardy Boyz vs. Cesaro and Sheamus (Steel Cage match for Raw Tag Team Championships)
This match will be a good one! We’ve seen these guys go at it in numerous tag and singles matches over the last few months. And tonight it’ll all come to a end in a Steel Cage! Expect blood, expect huge bumps from the top of the cage with those crazy Hardy’s and expect Cesaro and Sheamus to win! Yup, that’s right Hardy’s reign as tag champs will end tonight. Not sure if they will continue the feud after tonight… but I am pretty sure the Hardy’s are going to lose tonight and move on to another story line, possibly a “Broken” one? Who knows!
Roman Reigns vs. Finn Balor vs. Seth Rollins vs. Samoa Joe vs. Bray Wyatt (Universal Championship No. 1 Contender’s match)
Fatal 5 Way! This is different to be fair, can’t remember the last time they had a good Fatal 4 Way let alone a Fatal 5 Way! Love them or hate them, all five wrestlers in this main event are amazing competitors. And they will in most definitely steal the show. Expect some major bumps, OMG moments and an unlikely winner!
I want to say Balor has got this one but something is telling me it could end being Joe. My wild card pick though is Wyatt. Doubt it… but you never know!
Final Thoughts
So there you have it, my predictions. RAW hasn’t been the best over the last few weeks leading up to this PPV but I am hoping that they’ll pull it all back with Extreme Rules. It has been a good PPV in the past, so I am really hoping tonight is no exception! Get it right now WWE!! Peace out.
Hmmmm. I’m really only looking forward to the Aries V Neville match. Like you said Dave, Raw hasn’t really sold me this PPV, especially the go one show. However I predict it will be a good PPV. I’m interested to see some pay offs finally. I hope they move on to some good storylines over the next few months. I hope a surprise or two tonight. Finally, I think Seth will win. I think they’ll make Balor wait until later this year, maybe up until Mania. Much love.
